Still no posts on this blog? Come on guys. Get going. You are all supposed to be information professionals.

19 November is the Kuwait Book Fair.

Kuwaiti bloggers are campaigning against censorship.

Please see the following blog posts for more info and spread the word:

May I suggest that you discuss a subject that is important to the civil rights of all Kuwaitis and that is of censorship?

We are close to November 19th, the opening of the Kuwait International Book Fair and as information professionals, we need to hear your voices speaking out against censorship of books and access to information in the State of Kuwait.

Thank you

Dear Q8 Librarian,

Thank you for your contribution and interest in this blog! Well the tool is always there for any member who would like to participate. We can't force people to contribute. I'm sure every member follows up and reads the posts, but the lack of time besides the other commitments that they may have had affected the number of contributions!I will send them alert!
Anyways, If you have a topic in mind you can start and post in LIS Cafe! Aren't you a librarian? You should join us!

Asma,

I'm so pleased to see so many updates on the blog! Well done :-)

I come here for information and updates and it is a bit comical to find the huge list of contributors on the right and yet the blog has been neglected for so long.

One of the more important aspects of blogging is consistency. That is the reason I am pressuring you guys ;-)

I did suggest a very important topic above and that is the topic of information censorship in Kuwait. If you follow the links I put up, you will see that Kuwaiti bloggers have started a campaign against censorship.

Information professionals have an obligation to take a stand on this important subject and this blog reflects the KU library and information department's views. Everyone should be aware and campaign for freedom of information.

This is especially important as next month marks the opening of the Kuwait Book Fair at the Exhibition fairgrounds.

I enjoy coming back now and then to check up on your page and any critical comments I leave are meant to be taken as constructive.

All the best.
